A warm welcome to Mickley Bed & Breakfast

Being family run, and in our family home, we are much more comfortable, cosy and relaxed than a hotel or pub. After a good night's sleep and a huge breakfast, you can focus on your day ahead – whether it's wheeling and dealing, touring and exploring or just wining and dining. This is a B&B that will not break the bank, and where you will be looked after in the manner in which you would like to become accustomed!

Home from Home: If you are taking a few days' action-packed holiday or maybe you need somewhere quiet to base yourself for business or even just a couple of days self-indulging primetime, this warm and peaceful B&B is just the place for you to stay. But unlike home, so long as we have access by 10:30 your room will be serviced daily.

Our Cottage is affectionately known as The Tardis due to the exterior seeming considerably smaller than the interior! interior seemingly being considerably larger than the exterior conveys! Once upon a time it was two cottages but was seamlessly joined together about 60+ years ago. The earliest bit of the cottage dates back to about 1730 and like most houses, over the centuries it has been built on to.

Mickley is a friendly, quiet and old fashioned village, so if you are looking for night life and partying on until the early hours, this B&B is not for you!

It is essential to have some form of transport as there is no public transport to speak of.

We have a lock up garage that can house bicycles and /or motor bikes overnight.

Our Beds and our Breakfasts

Our Beds:
A number of guests have asked where we got our pocket-sprung memory-foam mattresses from as they said they had not slept so well, away from home, for a long time. One guest asked me to turn my back as they left because they were going to take the mattress with them! Excellent feedback, especially as we spend an average of 1/3 of our lives asleep in bed and the 'Bed' is only half of a Bed and Breakfast.

Our Breakfasts:
The 'Breakfast' is the other half of a Bed and Breakfast and our breakfasts are cooked in the Aga. One well-seasoned visitor told me that our breakfasts were better than many they had eaten in 5* hotels across the world. It was such an amazing compliment, but it does help to start off with the best ingredients and to cook to order. On the rare occasion the Aga goes out, we do have an electric back up!

Children and Dogs

By prior arrangement we welcome children and dogs, but we only welcome a well behaved child and/or dog!
